Why time waits for nobody.

There was an event which occurred on Sunday which has provoked me to write this blog.

Last week we decided that on Sunday we would take the puppy to the beach and have a nice chilled family day , a nice walk amongst the sand dunes enjoying the fresh air.
I had a foot operation last year and it has gone a bit wrong so I am in quite a bit of pain at the moment so although a day walking isn’t really my preferred method of enjoyment .Spending quality time with my boys is however so I took some heavy-duty painkillers and did what most mums do, I put a brave face on it …. I didn’t want to let them down.

Now jake decided it was a perfect day to fly his drone and capture some nice beach footage . Personally I still had menial tasks to complete at home so was keen to get on the road and back again to get these finished.

So when Jake started messing around with his drone just as we were about to leave let’s just say I was frustrated and annoyed that now we were having to wait… a grand total of 10 minutes.

When we eventually did leave home with me in a slightly spaced out drug induced grumpy euphoric state, 5 miles down the road we came across a rather nasty accident . It could not have happened that long before we reached the area , as there was just one police car and few witnesses present. It didn’t look good at all and both Jake and I felt a pang of sickness and sadness as we were diverted away from the wreckage. As we drove out towards the coast I felt such sadness for those involved and yet comfort that those I held dear were all safe and sound with me.Needless to say our day at the beach was one we all enjoyed so much more for the graphic reminder that each new day is a blessing and should never be taken for granted.

It transpired the accident had occurred just 10 minutes before we reached that point. If jake had not held us up that easily could have been us. Jake and his last-minute drone checks probably saved our lives.

Sadly somebody did die that day , a lady and right now her family and friends I am sure are wishing they had more time with her They would leave all the menial chores to pile up in order to spend one extra hour with that special person.

Every now and then time reminds us of it’s unstoppable power.Time is a currency we don’t have to earn , but it does come with a cost.

Sometimes it’s on your side like it was for us that day and other times it’s against you.

We got some great video footage that day , the very day time ticked along nicely for us and ceased to exist for somebody else.

Time just carries on …it waits for nobody.

  1. It’s horrible when you see any type of accident isn’t it but it’s even worse when you know it could of so easily been you or someone you loved involved, My heart goes out to that poor women’s family at this awful time! Life and time really is precious and I’m so glad you had a treasured day with your family! xx

    1. Exactly honey , sometimes you need to see it to realise that what we have that is the most valuable is time, it’s so easily taken from us xx
