When I was asked to review a Body Oil , I was in two minds whether I wanted to. Previous experience of using oils on my body I have to be honest , left me with clothes looking like I had wrapped cod & chips in them. No matter how long after application I left it , I would get some residue.
But after taking a look on the proposed products website I have to say I was very intrigued , these were in fact anti-age Body Oils. Needless to say I was in.
acuRegen , was founded by a lady called Amanda ( great first name) Shayle whose resume is pretty impressive to say the least.Amanda is a Practitioner of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. She is joint head of research and development as well as a senior lecturer for the College of Chinese Medicine, London.
With a special interest in infertility and cancer prevention Amanda is a Member of the Acupuncture Fertility Net-work and London Acupuncture Childbirth Team. It is pretty fair to say this lady understands us ladies well. With her expertise she has developed a range of products that are both natural and suitable for all skin types.
I was sent the Lavender Body Oil and my first impression was how pretty the product looked. Not only could you immediately smell the calming aroma of Lavender as you opened the lid , you could also see the lavender swirling around in the oil like a holistic snow globe.
It looked stunning and would make an eye-catching addition to any vanity unit.

I recently had surgery on my left foot and suffer from aches and pains not only in the affected area but also in my knees which have been carrying the burden for some time. this means that I often experience a poor nights sleep. For this reason I was particularly happy to have received the lavender oil , not just for its calming qualities but because this oil also contains Eucalyptus and Red Thyme renown for their anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties.
The anti -age properties include a clarifying complex of active essential oils which deliver intensive restorative action to the skin. It all sounds great but did this product live up to its eye catching appearance.
I decided to use this product in the evening after bathing , and I have to say the oil just seemed to melt into my skin leaving it feeling amazingly soft and smelling amazing. The scent lasted a long time and I could smell the oil on my skin well into the next day. Lavender is excellent for lots of conditions including anxiety , depression , menstrual cramps and has great pain relieving properties.
So did it really help my aches and pains?
YES it did , my knee pains and cramps no longer keep me awake at night which is BLISS !! When it’s time for bed I feel relaxed and sleepy. As for my skin , well it has already started to look and certainly feels a lot smoother and is most definitely more hydrated.Plus it is still early days so It can only get better,
There are so many benefits to this product that would tick a variety of boxes not only for the over 40’s but for anybody suffering from anxiety , irregular sleep patterns or joint pain at night.
A 15ml bottle retails at £16.99 and the 100ml bottle is £32.99 . All in all a small price to pay for not only improved skin appearance but numerous great health benefits.
There are also two other oils within the range Rose and Jasmin. Each coming with their own unique benefits also.So if lavender isn’t your thing alternatives are provided.
I am keen to try more of Amanda’s products , as odd as it sounds I feel an affinity with her products knowing that they are developed with women’s health at its heart.
Hop on over to the website not only do they have great products , they are also a training organisation for acupuncture.
