There is nothing better than channeling your inner Griswold during this festive time . And if you are a blogger then this just means fairy light heaven and the chance to indulge yourself and make every room in the house fully instagramable
I thought I would show you the few bits I have decorated our home with this Christmas . I have actually toned it down this year compared to previous years to a more modest level.
Whether you go for the traditional look , the arty look , or the coordinated look it’s hard to get it wrong and if it looks like Santa threw up all over your front garden, then great and well done you for getting into this wonderful festive spirit.
My tree in the lounge is brown and is decorated with white , grey , and wooden items as well as ribbon. I always prchase one new special item each year and over the years have built up rather a beautiful collection. Although I love tinsel I don’t like it on my tree. And it has to be white lights only for me.
Under the tree I have these light up Christmas presents along with and some wooden ones, they look fabulous especially at night time. Plus they hide the tree stand which I think always looks a bit un festive and deserves to be hidden.
On my console table I have two festive scents. A reed diffuser from Next and a gel candle from Sainsburys both in the scent Festive Spice.Because if you can’t smell Christmas it never happened. Both of these are being looked after by my pretty little reindeer whom I purchased from a local garden centre last year I think.
I am saving this one to burn Christmas Eve when I am cosy in my armchair by the lit fire with a glass of bubbles and a christmas movie. Jo Malone adding a deluxe feeling to the night before.
The fireplace was brought to life with a Christmas sat courtesy of Next with two copper candles because well copper is my thing !!
These cute little signs hung off door handles throughout the home just add an extra little festive touch.
And speaking of hanging off doors , this hangs off my front door . By the way don’t you just hate it when you see a lovely front door with no Christmas Wreath on it !! It makes me want to sneak one on at night !!!
And if a million Air fresheners isn’t enough , I also use this Laura Ashley room spray around the home.
And lastly the kitchen….
Naturally I had to have a tree in here also ,black to match the appliances of course !!!
And two little Christmas tress on the table to finish it off.
So there you have it my festive home decorating.
